A short poem for an elderly nun confined during the Covid Lockdown.

Abandoned down in Bandon,

Foresaken in Fermoy,

Locked up in Little Island,

Like a convict in Mountjoy.

Confined in Courtmacsherry,

Detained in Donoughmore,

Interred in Inishannon

Like a prisoner of war.

Caged up in Clonakilty,

Hog-tied down in Halfway,

Repressed in Ringaskiddy,

Like a pirate castaway.

Confined within our close surrounds,

We seek a new salvation,

Let God untie the county bounds,

And bring us vaccination.
